Can you figure out which stories your local community wants to read?

Are you in tune with your city’s unique “tastes, customs, passions, and sources,” as this Yahoo! job description puts it?  If so, you might be a good candidate for one of the local online editor jobs that we want to fill.

It looks like the new positions haven’t been posted to our career portal yet, but one of our editors asked me today to refer experienced online news editors who would be be passionate about curating local news coverage in San Jose, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Seattle, Houston, St. Louis, Atlanta, Tampa, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., or Boston.  The roles and responsibilities will be similar to what we describe here: http://yhoo.it/94T032

Ideal job candidates already live in the city that the editing position is for and have very deep, up-to-date knowledge about what excites local residents and what makes that city tick.  If this describes you and excites you, shoot me your resume so I can pass it along. Or check careers.yahoo.com frequently so you can apply online as soon as we post the job openings.

  1. Hi Nicole –

I recently submitted an application to you regarding the San Jose position. I wondering if perhaps I sent it to the incorrect email address or if I should pursue the position via the Yahoo jobs site? Thanks!

  2. Thanks for your interest! I’ve been traveling and returned to the United States (and to my laptop and abundant WiFi access) today. Will take a look!
